As we know Goa is
famous for its beaches, most of the tourists are focused on the coastal areas,
one of the best beaches to visit in south Goa is Betul beach, which lies near a
small coastal village Betul, 24kms away from the main city Margao. One can reach
Betul by road from Margao or by taking a ferry at Assolna or Mobor. Betul is
small but beautiful beach. It is known for its serenity and biodiversity. The
beach has a small lagoon and rivulet that flows to the sea.
A mud road with a short descent down leads to the beach. Most of the time the beach is deserted except for some
occasional visitors. There are no major hotels in this area nor beach shacks
one needs to carry their own food and drinks, but accommodation is easy to find
with the locals renting their house, such a variant will perfectly suite those
tourists who want to explore and take a closer look onto the culture and
lifestyle of local citizens.
This is an incredibly beautiful and interesting place, very
suitable for people of romantic nature who are looking for solitude and
loneliness and are yearn for connection with nature. The cool ocean breeze
ensures pleasant temperature all year round. This is a relatively small
secluded beach, which occupies the eastern coast of river sal, hidden in the
pleasant shadow of fruit trees and coconut palms.
The beach has small
lagoon and a river that flows to the sea, a field road with a slight slant
leads to the beach. Amazing, unforgettable and breathtakingly beautiful view
onto mobor resort and ocean appears before the eyes of everyone who are coming
here.
One can also get a view of the betul lighthouse,
located in hills of Baradi, in betul village which can be accessed during the
day time. Also find crabs scuttling across the shoreline, forming zigzag patterns
across the golden sand.
Why I love
visiting this beach frequently?
Beaches for
me is to get away from all the troubles that bothers one’s life. A place for
relaxation. When I look around here I see the beauty of mother nature at its
finest. I remember having time spent here when I had the feeling to be on a
dessert island. Watching the eagles turning in circles in the sky, watching the
fishing boats passing by, with not a single soul most of the times makes me
feel this beach is worth coming.
Beaches with
less crowd less noise and no pollution are the best!
Here I see
the sea so subtle, sparkles preciously as it strolls up against the shore. you
can hear the wave crashing against the coast, you can feel the grainy sand all
under your toe, not only feeling but to hear the waves is the ultimate
relaxation, it simply doesn’t gets better.
