One of the most happening and
ecstatic beaches in Goa, Mobor Beach is located at the southern-end of the
Velsao- Cavelossim beach stretch. Mobor beach is a beautiful, tranquil and
clean beach. The beach is located close to the mouth of the river Sal which is preferred
over other beaches for its impeccably clean white sands and crystal clear
waters. The Mobor beach in Goa is
one of the most popular tourist sites in the city and is located
at a distance of 18 km. from Margao city.
It is known for having one of the most fantastical
picturesque views and is also popular for the adventure sports, impelling
parties and a number of shows that are held here. Mobor beach is surrounded
with water from three sides providing us with a captivating view of the nature.
It is, thus, the most crowded and the noisiest beach in South Goa.
History:
Named after the nearest village, Mobor Beach was left unexplored till
the 1980s. It is noteworthy that the beach was explored till 1980s. Before
1980s, Mobor beach was a barren stretch of land with a few huts. It was after
the 1980s that it gained prominence due to the opening of a number of luxury
hotels there.
When you keenly admire the Mobor Beach, it feels like the River
Sal envelopes the beach and then joins the Arabian Sea.The sand dunes and the
coconut palms that grow here add to the incandescent beauty of the place. The Sal River flows quietly on the other side to meet the Arabian Sea. There are cruises on the Sal, dolphin and bird tours.
I
visited this beach in the month of march along with my friends. I wanted to
know more about this place so I stepped into the Pearl beach café and found one
guy, he was more willing to tell us. He said “Every year thousands of tourists
come to the beach to indulge in water sports.
In fact, the Mobor beach is famous
for water sports. It is an ideal location for the adventure tourists which offer
water sports like water skiing, water surfing, jet ski, banana and bump rides
and parasailing. Moreover, this is one of those beaches which is having the
option of biking on the beach, which happens to be the top favorite activity of
all the tourists coming here. You can
also do some underwater fishing or oysters catching.
White sand Beach
It
is very difficult to find white sand beach in India, but if you go to
Mobor you will get your dreams come
true. The water is Crystal clear water. The sand here is very fine and light in colour, perfect for walking
across barefoot and is very tempting to take a swim here. In some places
separate natural bays appeared. Here you can take your sunbathes absolutely
safely and away from prying eyes and noise. You will see fishermen sorting and drying there catch on the beach.
Best Time
to Visit:
Mobor Beach can be visited all
through the year. However, the best time to visit the beach is between the
months of September and March. I reached there at around 2:30 so it was very
hot. The sun does get very warm around noon and after. I would recommend a
morning or late afternoon visit.

Stay:
There are many luxury hotels and
resorts near the beach. The Leela palace , Holiday Inn Resort, the Leela,
Veeniola Holiday Home and Bamboo House and many more are some good accommodation options near the
beach.

reason, tourist sometimes mistake this
