Benaulim Beach: The Unexplored Coast

Image
Goretty Jevel Fernandes    Fybcom B C18-3224 From the relaxing white sands to watersports and the mouth-watering seafood, Benaulim beach is one of the most tranquil beaches in the south of Goa. Located just 2 kms away from the famous Colva beach and 6 kms from the main city Margao, this beach is one of the ideal locations for the tourists seeking serenity and relaxation. The beach has a long crescent shaped shoreline of powder-soft sands and is dotted with swaying palm trees which adds to the picturesque view of the beach. Legend has it that this is the place where an arrow shot by Lord Parshuram, sixth incarnation of Vishnu landed. The arrow shifted back the hills forming the Konkan belt. The place was hence named Banavli (ban means arrow) and was later changed to Benaulim by the Portuguese. If you wish to be at some place close to nature and totally untouched, then Benaulim beach is the best place for you. The best thing about Benaulim beach is that it...

Betul Beach-The Serene One.

Image
ADITYA PAREEK FYBCOM B C183246   As we know Goa is famous for its beaches, most of the tourists are focused on the coastal areas, one of the best beaches to visit in south Goa is Betul beach, which lies near a small coastal village Betul, 24kms away from the main city Margao. One can reach Betul by road from Margao or by taking a ferry at Assolna or Mobor. Betul is small but beautiful beach. It is known for its serenity and biodiversity. The beach has a small lagoon and rivulet that flows to the sea. A mud road with a short descent down leads to the beach. Most of the time the beach is deserted except for some occasional visitors. There are no major hotels in this area nor beach shacks one needs to carry their own food and drinks, but accommodation is easy to find with the locals renting their house, such a variant will perfectly suite those tourists who want to explore and take a closer look onto the culture and lifestyle of local citizens. This is...

Cola Beach- The Hidden Gem

Image
Rishvesh Naik  Fybcom B C18-3244 It so happened one day that my friends began to talk about hidden beaches of Goa. They began talking about various other beaches which I had already visited. But then they started gossiping about this beach named cola. I was fascinated by its name and wished to visit it. My friends being so good to me made a plan to go there. The cola beach is also known as “khola beach”. This is the name given by the locals. This beach is situated in Canacona in a remote area. It takes 20 minutes to reach Cola from Palolem beach and 10 minutes from Agonda beach. As we were about to reach the Cola beach I noticed that we have to take the mud road which will take us to the beach. But I think that quote saying “tough roads often take  you to the most beautiful destination”  is really true because as soon as we reached there, I felt like I was very close to nature and it felt like the environment is trying to take away all my fatigue, tensions and r...

Rheetika Desai  : C183212 FYBCOM B One of the most happening and ecstatic beaches in Goa, Mobor Beach is located at the southern-end of the Velsao- Cavelossim beach stretch. Mobor beach is a beautiful, tranquil and clean beach. The beach is located close to the mouth of the river Sal which is preferred over other beaches for its impeccably clean white sands and crystal clear waters. The Mobor beach in Goa is one of the most popular tourist sites in the city and is located at a distance of 18 km. from Margao city. It is known for having one of the most fantastical picturesque views and is also popular for the adventure sports, impelling parties and a number of shows that are held here. Mobor beach is surrounded with water from three sides providing us with a captivating view of the nature. It is, thus, the most crowded and the noisiest beach in South Goa. History : Named after the nearest village, Mobor Beach was left unexplored till the 1980s....

Grandmother's Hole Beach - Vasco

Image
Pragati Khebude    Fybcom B    C18-3239 The view of the beach from top If anyone would ask me which is the best beach I have visited in Goa I would reply the Grandmothers hole beach. Grandmothers Hole beach lies 3 kms. away from the city of Vasco near the Marmagoa Port Trust housing colony at the Vasco Sada Headland area. Located close to the beach is the coastal defense battery of the Indian Navy. The beach can be reached by personal vehicle maybe a car or a bike or local buses which ply from Vasco to the area at regular interval. Parking is available on the top of the cliff and on crossing a small park, you’ll have to make your way down 222 steps to get to this picturesque little sandy strip. I actually counted the steps on the calf-strained walk up the steps again. So unfit! Steps that lead to the beach The entrance to the beach is next to the Japanese garden. A flight of steps lead down to the beach along a winding path which goes through ...
